11 October 2009 - The Hunapo family from Merivale arrived back to their home on Hampton Terrace today to find it has had a dramatic makeover.
Rhismanda Hunapo, a solo mother of four children, was chosen as the recipient of Merivale's Makeover Project.
Organised by Mount Moasic and the Merivale Community Centre, the project inspired the entire Merivale community to rally behind Rhismanda and her family.
An estimated $120,000 to $140,000 has been spent revamping the house.

Plumbing Works were pleased to help out with the plumbing that was required on this project.

Plumbing Works are pleased to continue their support of sports in the Bay of Plenty. This includes the Tauranga under 16 and Tauranga under 18 representative Hockey teams who acheived the following results;
    - Under 16s came 7th out of 16 in the National Tournament in Hamilton
    - Under 18s came 6th out of 16 in the National Tournament in Napier

After sucessfuly completing the North Wing & Podium contracts, Plumbing Works were pleased to secure the second phase for the West Wing. The challenge here was to route all the plumbing services without interupting the 4th floor where the ICU is located.
Plumbing Works would like to thank Fletcher Construction for the positive manner in which they managed this contract, for support given as well as creating a pleasant working environment for all sub-contractors to co-ordinate and meet the tight contractural programs.

Plumbing Works Apprentices Top Of The Class

Three Tauranga apprentices including two from Plumbing Works, received awards from the Apprenticeship Training Trust.The Prime Minister presented the awards to Haigen Seddon and Kaha Lind at a formal dinner. 
Haigen won the Don Keenan Scholarship and a three week Outward Bound course at Anikiwa Lodge in Charlotte Sound.
Kaha received tools worth $750 for winning the Most Improved Level 2 Apprentice. Well done guys.

Plumbing Works wins $2.3 million contract with Tauranga Hospital

The contract included supplying all sanitary fittings and associated plumbing for the new North wing & podium contract. The contract include some $1.8million for plumbing and another $500k for roofing. The contract required close that a team from Plumbing Works maintained in close liaison with the main contractor Fletcher Construction BOP in order to meet all obligations.

"We installed in excess of 500 sanitary fittings, 6,500 metres of copper piping and 3,800 metres of PVC piping on this contract" said Craig Coxhead from Plumbing Works. Challenges include working after hours and having sufficient materials to ensure jobs could be completed by the following morning to prevent any disruption to the hospital
